A personal note on our next chapter as an SEC Registered Investment Advisory Firm.
Change has a way of finding us, whether we are ready for it or not. The seasons change. The desert heat gives way to cooler mornings, sunsets arrive a little earlier, and the rhythm of our days shifts almost without our permission. Relationships change as families grow, careers evolve, children become adults, and priorities take new shape. Money changes, too. Markets rise and fall, tax laws shift, interest rates move, expenses look different from one stage of life to the next, and the goals we once held may need to be revisited as life unfolds.
As financial advisors, we talk about change every day because change is one of the few constants in financial planning. A plan is not a document meant to sit in a drawer. It is a living conversation. It should grow with you, challenge you, protect you when life becomes uncertain, and give you confidence when new opportunities appear. Investing is much the same. No portfolio exists in a vacuum. It must be connected to your purpose, your timeline, your values, your comfort with risk, and the people and causes that matter most to you.
That is why our own change is so meaningful. After much reflection, preparation, and anticipation, we have reached a major milestone from dually registered investment advisors to an SEC Registered Investment Advisory Firm. This is more than a new title or business structure. It represents a deeper commitment to the way we believe financial advice should be delivered—through planning first, thoughtful investing, transparency, and ongoing guidance designed around each client’s best interest. Under federal law, all investment advisers owe clients a fiduciary duty, including duties of care and loyalty, which reinforces the importance of advice based on the client’s best interest throughout the relationship.1
For prospective clients, this milestone matters because choosing a financial advisor is not just about choosing someone to manage investments. It is about choosing a relationship. It is about sitting across from someone who is willing to understand what keeps you up at night, what you are working toward, what you have built, and what you hope your money will make possible. It is about advice that begins with listening and continues through each chapter of life—not just during market highs or around a transaction, but in the moments when decisions feel complex and clarity matters most.
Financial planning is the heart of that relationship. Investments are important, but they are only one piece of the larger picture. Your portfolio should serve your plan, not the other way around. Retirement income, cash flow, tax awareness, estate considerations, education goals, charitable giving, business transitions, insurance needs, and legacy planning all connect. When we understand the whole picture, we can help clients make better decisions—not only about what to invest in, but why, when, and how those choices support the life they want to live.
From my point of view as a financial advisor, the most rewarding work is not found in charts, statements, or spreadsheets, although those tools certainly matter. The reward is found in the conversations. It is hearing someone say they finally feel organized. It is watching a client retire with more confidence because the numbers have been tested and the plan has been discussed. It is helping a family make sense of an inheritance, a business owner prepare for a sale, a widow understand her next steps, or a young professional begin building habits that may change the course of their future. That is the work I love. It comes naturally to me because helping people comes naturally to me, and I am grateful every day that this calling has never felt like work.
This next chapter also gives us the opportunity to introduce and celebrate our newest team members. We are bringing together people who share a common belief: clients deserve to feel known, heard, and cared for. Each member of our team adds experience, perspective, and energy to the work we do. Together, we are building a firm that reflects the values we have always held close—integrity, responsiveness, education, planning, and genuine care for the families and individuals who place their trust in us.
We know that change can feel uncertain. Even positive change asks us to step into something new. But we also know that meaningful growth often requires the courage to evolve. Just as seasons change because they are supposed to, businesses and relationships must sometimes change in order to better serve the people who depend on them. This move allows us to continue doing what we love with even greater focus: helping clients plan wisely, invest intentionally, and move through life’s changes with greater confidence.2
To our clients, friends, neighbors, and community: thank you. Thank you for your support, your referrals, your encouragement, and your trust. Thank you for letting us be part of your biggest questions and most important milestones. We do not take that responsibility lightly. The relationships we have built in this community are the reason we are able to do this work every day, and they are also the reason we are so excited for what comes next.
Change is inevitable. But when change is guided by purpose, gratitude, and a sincere desire to serve others well, it becomes something more than transition. It becomes growth. It becomes renewal. It becomes the beginning of a new season. We are honored to step into this next chapter as an SEC Registered Investment Advisory Firm, and we look forward to continuing to help our clients and future clients plan for the changes ahead—with care, clarity, and heart.
